Official Records and Custody Contacts

The Bear Lake County Sheriff’s Office is the main contact for county sheriff incidents, booking records, release records, and record-specific photo requests. The office has no verified public searchable roster, so give staff a narrow date range and the city or event location.

Bear Lake County Sheriff’s Office
Sheriff Bart Heslington
30 North Main Street
P.O. Box 365
Paris, ID 83261
208-945-2121
8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday

Choose the route that matches the question:

  • For a booking record or photograph, start with the county records and photo guidance and submit a focused BLCSO request.
  • For a new booking lead, review 24 Hour Arrests; for several days, use the Arrest Log.
  • For a current covered custody status or release and transfer alerts, use VINELink Check.
  • For an unsealed case, disposition, or court order, contact the Bear Lake County courthouse in Paris or use Idaho iCourt.
  • For someone serving a state sentence or under state supervision, use the Idaho Department of Correction resident and client search.
  • For federal custody, use the Federal Bureau of Prisons locator. Immigration detention is searched separately through the ICE detainee locator.
  • For a warrant concern, contact BLCSO, the court clerk, or an attorney through official channels. Do not rely on an unofficial listing.

Montpelier has its own police department and records route. Georgetown’s official police page directs police matters to BLCSO or 911, while Paris uses the sheriff-centered county-seat route. Call 911 only for an emergency.
